ALL JEFF MITCHUM IMAGES
I have visited this location at all times of the year, seeing the winter snow filling in among the rocks and massive spring runoff with spray everywhere. It is all equally wonderful. The last time I was here, I mountain biked in the snow. There was black ice everywhere and mountain lion prints racing up and down the trails; the most I have ever seen anywhere.
The hike is a wonder in itself, a maze of greenscape tied together with an artist's touch of perfectly placed boulders. Part of me never wants to leave the forest, the other part says discovery awaits.
I chose a horizontal setup to emphasize the basalt pillars with water pouring over them. I plan to showcase this print in my Vegas gallery so the magic of this place is displayed every day, year-round.
